Thailand’s legislature has picked Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the girl of businessman billionaire and former president Thaksin, as prime minister.
At 37, she will be the government’s youngest PM and the next person in the article, after her uncle Yingluck.
Her choice comes just two weeks after a constitutional court dismissed former prime minister Srettha Thavisin. Both are from the Pheu Thai Party, which came next at the 2023 vote but formed a ruling coalition.
In the last two years, Ms. Paetongtarn has been elected as the fifth Shinawatra leader.
