Asia has been moved as much as Tier 2 in the Tier 2 Watchlist in the United States 2022 Trafficking in Persons Review released by ALL OF US Secretary of Condition Anthony Blinken upon Tuesday.

In last year’s SUGGESTION Report,   Thailand year was demoted from Tier 2 to the Tier 2 Watchlist .

The statement said the Thailänder government had shown more attempts in order to combat human trafficking, compared to the year before. Because of its efforts in order to contain human smuggling despite the Covid-19 outbreak, Thailand had been transferred up to Tier 2 .

In case Thailand remained over the Tier 2 Watchlist for two consecutive yrs, it would have been instantly moved down to Rate 3. This means Asia could then happen to be denied support through the US government in various fields which tend not to include humanitarian and trade assistance. The united states could also raise an objection if Asia sought help through international organisations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank or non-governmental development organisations.

According to the 2022  SUGGESTION Report released simply by Mr Blinken on Tuesday, the US has blacklisted countries that are found to have switched a blind eyes on forced sexual intercourse services and permitted labour trafficking. The particular countries which have been blacklisted are Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei and Macau. Malaysia had been previously blacklisted.
