Thailand-China 50-year diplomatic ties celebration with cultural event

According to Phinij Jarusombat, past Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the Thai-Chinese Cultural Relationship Council (TCCRC ), Thailand and China continue to improve their relationships across a number of fields, including society, economy, business, and funding.

Phinij spoke at a great ceremony held on March 2 at the China Cultural Centre in Bangkok to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations. He also spoke about the growing cooperation between the two countries. The renowned Symphony Choir of China gave a effectiveness at the ceremony, which paid a moving tribute to the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Distinguished friends at the event included Assoc Prof. Dr. Cholawit Jiarajit, acting president of Srinakharinwirot University, Chang Yumeng, Minister Counsellor for Culture at the Chinese Embassy, and Professor Wang Huan, family of the Foreign Ambassador to Thailand.

Mr. Phinij made a special mention of 2024, which will mark the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic ties. He expressed desire that the melodies sung in Bangkok had spread throughout China, expressing a growing friendship and assistance. He emphasized the need to increase the bilateral financial, business, investment, hospitality, cultural, and educational exchanges. He also expressed optimism about rising Thai durian exports to China at higher rates than previously.

The event provided a cultural gate between Thailand and China by featuring world-class musical performances. The Chinese Symphony Choir’s remarkable vocal talent captured the attention of the audience, demonstrating the power of music to overcome borders.
