Another 200 000 blankets made from recycled PET ( polyethylene terephthalate ) bottles have been given to isolated communities in 15 provinces by Thai Beverage Plc( ThaiBev ).

In seven northwestern and eight northern provinces, the company has been providing eco-friendly blankets to residents who are susceptible to the effects of cold winter weather for 24 years. This year, 200,000 blankets may be distributed to those in need.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation’s public and private network are partners in the donation project.

Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, the Director of ThaiBev, expressed his gratitude for the partnership that had allowed the initiative to go on for 24 times.

According to him,” ThaiBev’s Unite to Fight the Cold strategy has sent over 4.8 million mats to patients who endure severe seasons.” The business has also traveled to isolated areas to assess their needs and provide assistance with social, economic, education, and public health issues.

Partnerships between the public and private sectors have been started as a result of the campaign, strengthening the charitable nature of society.

Each mantle, according to Mr. Thapana, contains 38 PET bottles. The fabric is made of recycled Dog yarn and is gentle and light. Each year, 200 000 mats are made from recycled PET bottles, numbering over 7.6 million.

The third year of recycling PET bottles to mats is this year. So far, we have recycled a total of 30.4 million PET containers, he said.

In addition, Mr. Thapana thanked KPMG Phoomchai Audit Ltd, Saundok Hospital Foundation, Oishi Group Plc, Berli Jucker Plb, and the Interior Ministry for their support of the program.
