Thai woman missing for months found dead in Oman

A Thai woman who went missing more than three months ago was found burned on a mountain by authorities in Oman on Saturday, according to another Thai woman who lives there on Monday.

The deceased woman– Athitiya” Mind” Wilachan, 29– was confirmed to be a death victim, with her personality being verified through DNA testing, said the Thai woman, who is married to an Muscat police officer and goes on Facebook by the name Khadeeja MadamOman Alhashmi.

After learning about Athitiya’s removal, Ms. Khadeeja requested his husband’s assistance in the case and integrate with the local authorities, according to a post on her social media page.

She, along with Athitiya’s companions and some anxious users, had gathered information and tip-offs and provided them to the authorities.

The police investigation led to the discovery of Athitiya’s remains on a hill near Salahla, Oman’s largest metropolis. After associates said they could hardly call her for three weeks, Athitiya, a indigenous of Lampang’s Mae Mo city who relocated to Oman in 2020, started searching.

Last month, her parents and friends reported her to the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women asking for assistance from the government in locating her and bringing her home.

According to them, Athitiya went to work in a cafe in Oman in 2020 and immediately moved in with her partner, a Bangladeshi nationwide.

She frequently exchanged messages with companions over social media and posted pictures on social media. Yet, she never revealed the face of her partner.

She shared a photo of herself on a hospital bed in October with the news that her partner had actually abused her.

Later, a friend after discovered Athitiya in her room in November. According to them, the prey was unable to speak because she had scars every over her body. After that, no one was able to reach or observe her.

Before the home reported a missing people to the Pavena Foundation, Athitiya’s companions took to social media to discuss the situation.

Her partner was involved in the illegal drug trade, according to additional investigations. He was taken into custody two weeks ago.
