Thailand’s 4th confirmed monkeypox case is also the first feminine in the country to have contracted the virus during the current outbreak, the Public Health Ministry reported yesterday.
Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of Department of Disease Control (DDC), yesterday said that information of her actions showed the 22-year-old had entered an entertainment venue within Bangkok known to be popular among foreigners.
The woman had near contact with a foreign man and started to develop a fever upon July 29.
Despite having already developed signs and symptoms, she is reported to have continued with the prepared night out with Thailänder and foreign buddies, before breaking away in blisters the very next day with more developing close to her genital region on Aug several.
She was admitted to Chularat 3 Global Hospital in Samut Prakan and then used in Bamrasnaradura Infectious Illnesses Institute, after the diagnosis was produced on Thursday.
