Thai police influencers seek to warn against crime online

National authorities key Kittharath Punpetch wants to establish the Royal Thai Police (RTP)’s individual bloggers in an era where victims of crimes turn to social internet for assistance.

He believes that RTP bloggers should be a readily accessible resource for support, changing how people view police and making sure crime victims approach the police first rather than seek assistance abroad.

He thinks this will help to contain website thief who are quickly evolving.

The Thai Media Fund, RTP, Online News Producers Association, and Thai PBS collaborated to create multimedia content to raise public awareness of virtual threats, and Pol Gen Kittharath’s initiative builds on it.

Important officers figures, including Pol Maj Gen. Teeradej Thumsutee, Pol Maj. Pakrit Krittayapong of the Criminal History Registration Division, Pol Capt Pitchpong Somkul, and Pol Capt Pichayakorn Sukthawee, the project’s official launch on Thursday.

The RTP’s Khakinang TV channel, which aims to bridge the divide between officers and the populace, features Pol Maj Pakrit, Pol Capt Pitchpong, and Pol Capt Pichayakorn as key figures.

The Cyber Booster project, according to Pol Maj Gen Teeradej, the creator of the cop’s IDMB Page, was a result of a coordinated effort to combat online frauds and other digital threats that congregate people for money.

According to him, it aims to make sure the general public is aware of where to go when in need of assistance.

He added that 17 film clips show a new police force in the part of online gods in an effort to inform people about these risks.

Included officials include Pol Maj Thanyapirasit Julpipop, an investigator attached to the MPB, Pol Capt Nonthapat Intrarasuran, a deputy investigator attached to the Technology Crime Suppression Division, and Pol Lt Kansini Sitthichotpong, a media contact officer with the MPB.

Because of the cooperation from various organizations, including media stores, Pol Lt Kansini, also known as” Lt Panda,” said she thinks the project will benefit people more effectively.

Instead of improving the officer’s reputation, she said, it is meant to educate people and strengthen their resilience against online frauds. While prevention is always better, officers may continue to address crimes, she added.

Although Pol Lt Kansini does not regard herself an influencer, she does have strong communication abilities that she uses to produce articles to highlight criminal’s ploys.

” Police have special knowledge. Some are good at tracking down offenders. I am good at communicating, but I use it to highlight those games. This is what I can do to minimise damage”, Pol Lt Kansini said.
