A group was detained by police, who used false documents to file and resell rental cars after they were stolen from at least 50 locations.

The crew reportedly circulated more than 40 million ringgit in its improper trade.

Eight out of nine offenders named in the warrants, four of whom are women, have been detained, according to Pol Maj Gen Khongkrit Loetsitthikun, the HPD’s captain, on Thursday.

According to Pol Maj Gen Khongkrit, the nine defendants were only identified as Phattharada, 32, Tharathep, 32, Chokchana, 66, Ramphai, 30, Warut, 26, Ratthanaphon, 35, Sippawin, 32, Ramwirin, 30, and Chaiwat, 39.

He continued,” Mr. Warut is still at big.”

He claimed that they were wanted on suspicion of misappropriation, document falsification, using fake documents, and providing false information to state officials with the intention to fraudulently acquire government documents.

He continued, adding that the eight offenders had been detained on Wednesday.

According to Pol Maj Gen Khongkrit, Ms. Phattharada and Mr. Tharathep were the group masterminds who oversaw and financed the unlawful operation, while Mr. Chokchana, Ms. Ramphai, and Mr. Warut stole their cars from a rental car company.

In addition, Ms. Rattahanphon and Mr. Sippawin were responsible for obtaining fresh license plates and falsifying documents to file the stolen vehicles in someone else’s name.

According to the captain, Ms. Ramwirin was in charge of social media posting used car for sale ads and locating clients. The trucks were then delivered by Mr. Chaiwat to the customers.

The owner of a car rental company in Chachoengsao state complained to local authorities in December, prompting the launch of the investigation into the gang.

She claimed that one of her rent had been taken, according to authorities. Eventually, the woman discovered that the vehicle had a new license plate and new registration number on it.

According to Pol Lt Col Thotsaphon Kittilap, main investigator at Highway Police Station 3, she called the bridge officer’s line to request assistance in finding the stolen car because the re-registration was conducted in Nakhon Pathom.

The lady continued with her own private&nbsp research at the same time.

He claimed that the Department of Land Transport’s ( DLT) mobile application confirmed the car’s license plate change.

The highway authorities therefore requested assistance from the DLT, which discovered that false records had been submitted to support the theft of the stolen vehicle, according to Pol Lt Col Thotsaphon, who requested their assistance.

According to the main inspector, on January 8, bridge police spotted the stolen vehicle leaving Nakhon Pathom and heading north, which prompted a chase. The vehicle was later intercepted in Tak where the customer was detained for questioning.

According to Pol Lt Col Thotsaphon, the client claimed that he purchased the vehicle for 300,000 baht online.
