According to the Meteorological Department, the earthquake’s epicenter was 326 kilometers west of Pang Ma Pha region in Mae Hong Son state and about 1,100 kilometers from Bangkok.

No wave warning

The general public was advised to be vigilant for waves. Pichit Sombatmak, director-general of the Mineral Resources Department, said,” The waves may not be effective but they can cause damage.”
