The embassy to Israel confirms that Thai employees who are still employed in Israel are not in high-risk locations.
The remaining six Thai personnel ‘ fate is unknown a month after they were captured during the Hamas terror attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, according to the Israeli government, who has pledged to do everything in its power to save them.
There are no reports of the remaining Thai victims being held in Gaza, according to Orna Sagiv, the ambassador of Israel to Thailand.
At a commemoration ceremony held in Bangkok on Monday, the military and the Israeli Association of Thailand said,” Hamas does not cooperate with anyone.”
” Hamas, for one year now, did not allow the Red Cross or any foreign companies to actually attend any of the victims. So, unfortunately, we do n’t know”, she said. We have no new information about the victims ‘ movements or situation.
” But I can assure you that everything that Israel does is to free the hostages, including Thai victims when well,” I want to urge every government to support our efforts to reunite these individuals.
Of the 31 Thais formerly taken prisoner by Hamas next October, 23 have been released. The death of the remaining six is unknown, despite the fact that two have already been confirmed dying in May.
As Israel faces hostile forces encircling its place, Ms. Sagiv claimed that the Israeli authorities has ensured the safety of about 35, 000 Thai workers who still work there.
She said the Israeli government has made a promise to the Thai government that all high-risk red zones are reserved for Thai personnel, and that they are only allowed to work there.
According to Ms Sagiv,” The Israeli government has done everything we can to protect Thai employees, including building more homes in hazardous areas and providing data in the Thai speech.”
She continued,” What is important for both Thais and Israelis is that when you hear the horn, please do not go out,” noting that Thai personnel should do the same thing as Israelis, run a house after you hear sirens.
Even if the condition is not so firm, the majority of workers are safe, she said.
It was amazing [that the number of casualties were low ] (# ) because most people follow the instructions of the Israel Defense Forces, and most of them are safe, especially when we compared the number of casualties to the number of missiles being fired at Israel in the past two weeks.
According to Ms. Sagiv, Israel recently learned that Hezbollah was planning a murder similar to Hamas’ on October 7, 2013.
She claimed that the Iran-backed organization intended to systematically infiltrate north Israel to kidnap and murder persons.
” They had caverns, cars, equipment and weapons prepared. Therefore, we may sit and wait to let it occur. We must make certain it is impossible for them. We must take every precaution possible to safeguard our citizens and ensure that they live happily, she continued.
She questioned how Israel could shield Thai workers from a possible following massacre in north Israel, noting that there are hardly any Thai residents there.
