Thai freight train hits truck, killing eight

BANGKOK: According to the village’s rail company, eight people were killed on Friday, August 4, when a cargo train collided with pick-up trucks as they attempted to cross the tracks in main Thailand.

According to a statement from the State Railway of Thailand, the crash occurred at an unauthorised crossing in Chachoengsao state, east of Bangkok, around 2.20 am( 3.20am, Singapore time ).

According to the speech, the train drivers had sounded his notice whistle as he approached the cross but was unable to quit before running into the truck carrying fish.

The statement continued,” The train drivers followed the process by sounding the alarm three days, but the pilot struggled to stop the train in time due to the close proximity.”

In the collision, eight people — five men and three women — died.

Four more people were hurt, and one of them is in critical state at the doctor.

A 20-year-old victim who jumped out of the pick-up just before the collision said they believed the car could cross the bridge but finally noticed the train was only a few meters away.

Thailand frequently ranks among the world’s most dangerous roads, with fatal accidents, drunk driving, and lax law enforcement all playing a role.

18 people were killed in a cargo train collision in October 2020 while transporting people to sacramental services.
