Due to a technical issue, the launch of Thailand Earth Observation Satellite 2( THEOS – 2 ) has been delayed.

Theos 2’s liftoff had been scrubbed 14 seconds prior to launch, according to information released on Saturday by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency( Gistda ).

The launch of Taiwan’s Triton ( Formosat – 7R) weather satellite and 10 small European Space Agency satellites attached to the same rocket at the Spaceport in the South American nation of French Guiana were also postponed in addition to Theos 2.

At 8.37 am Thailand moment, a reminder system was showing problems during the broadcast by Gistda. Later, Theos – 2 programmers Arianespace and Airbus confirmed that the release had been put on hold indefinitely.

Electric overloads that went over the threshold, according to Supamas Isarabhakdi, minister of higher education, research research, and innovation, were to blame for the professional error. The security control unit of the satellite had to stop the operation.

She continued by saying that Gistda would announce the next start date as soon as possible and that Arianespace would release the satellite assessment report on Sunday.

According to Gistda, the US Federal Aviation Administration has ordered that launches be postponed if weather conditions or complex issues may obstruct the operation. The release apparatus on the ground or damaged dish components were examples of the technical error in Theos – 2.
