CHONBURI: Thailand’s latest world brand, child dwarf hippo Moo Deng, is challenging its keepers with the surprisingly big crowds it is drawing to its zoo, two hours south of the capital Bangkok.
Millions of people have watched Moo Deng’s awkwardly charming adventures on social media, including trying to bite its manager despite however lacking teeth, and the name “bouncing pig” means “bouncing pig” in Thai.
” We typically receive around 800 readers per day during the weekends and during the low time,” said Narongwit Chodchoy, chairman of the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province.
But the park is then getting 3, 000 to 4, 000 persons on weekends, and welcomed 20, 000 customers over the weekend, the 51-year-old said- most of them lining up to discover Moo Deng.
” Moo Deng disease means we will have to organize stronger so that everyone can see her,” Narongwit said.
