According to the country’s regulation, Tesla is recalling more than 1.6 million cars in China due to problems with wheel software and lock locking devices.

The model S, X, 3 and Y, as well as 7, 538 imported cars, are included in the recall.

Remote software updates will be used to fix the issues, so the cars wo n’t need to be taken to dealerships or garages.

Less than a month has passed since Tesla recalled two million US vehicles due to problems with its pilot program.

More than a million cars may have problems with their acceleration and braking systems, according to the Chinese regulator in May of last year.

The American automaker next found issues with door locking systems and helped driving functions.

Even though the planned vehicle release will take place electronically, the State Administration for Market Regulation ( SAMR), the Chinese regulation, referred to it as a remember.

According to the SAMR, Tesla may make available an over-the-air software upgrade for 1,610,105 vehicles, including imported Models S and X as well as Chinese-made Model 3 & Y cars produced between 2014 and 2023.

This, the regulation continued, was done to address autosteer work problems and reduce the possibility of collisions.

The SAMR stated that” when the automatic assisted wheel work is activated for vehicles within the context of this remember, the driver may use the stage two combined assisted driving function, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and posing a safety hazard.”

Tesla did also update the software for 7, 538 Model S and X vehicles individually to address the issue of doors that might unlock during crashes.

Following China’s BYD, which overtook Tesla in global energy car sales in the last quarter of 2023, Tesla has suffered two new setbacks.

Tesla recalled roughly 128 000 cars in China in 2022 due to a rear engine inverter defect, which was another similar action.

In China, where Tesla has a sizable consumer marketplace, grants have been used to encourage people to purchase electric and hybrid vehicles. By 2035, the majority of vehicles in the nation should be powered by fresh energy.

In Shanghai, China also has a sizable manufacturing facility that is Tesla’s first “gigafactory” to be constructed overseas. According to the state news agency Xinhua, the service will deliver 947,000 cars in 2023.
