At an event held on Tuesday to indicate the Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Day in Bangkok, its embassy stated that Iran is eager to increase tourism markets with Thailand.

Nassereddin Heidari, the Islamic Republic’s minister in Bangkok, said over 50, 000 Iranians visited Thailand as travellers last month, making the country one of the most famous tourism spots for its residents. Iran would like to see that amount rise even more.

Tehran wants more Thai visitors to Iran, so he said the embassy will carry a number of special events to entice more Thais to come visit.

Thailand is also being promoted by the government as a tourist place for Iranians.

Lately, he noted, the ambassador held a tourism development occasion, which was attended by about 30 Thai trip companies.

The Egyptian consulate in Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran will hold events to mark the step and encourage people-to-people markets as this year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Thailand.

According to Mr. Nessereddin, the two countries ‘ relations actually start about four centuries ago when Iranian merchants and scholars travel to the time of the same country to explore new trade routes and bring cultural effects along with them.

Thailand is a major nation for Iran, the nation. As a result, we are willing to improve bilateral cooperation in social, political, and economic regions, including tourism”, he added.
