Teenagers among 64 arrested in Singapore drug bust, more than 11kg of cannabis seized

SINGAPORE: A total of 64 suspected drug violators were arrested in an islandwide activity from Mar 18 to 22, during which more than 11kg of hemp and various drugs were seized. &nbsp,

Many teenagers were among the defendants. The youngest was a 17- year- old student, said the Central Narcotics Bureau ( CNB) in a media release on Saturday ( Mar 23 ).

The pupil was among a group of four youth arrested at a level at Compassvale Walk in Sengkang on the day of Mar 18.

About 16g of Ice, a modern weighing scale, various clear plastic packets and different drug paraphernalia were recovered from the bedroom of an 18- year- older.

” Primary investigations found that the 18- yr- old was involved in suspected medicine trafficking activities and was assisted by the two 19- year- ancient suspects”, said CNB.

Different places covered during the islandwide procedure include Ang Mo Kio, Woodlands and Yishun.

CNB officers intercepted a vehicle along Yishun Avenue 2 on Mar 21 and arrested the 40- season- older drivers and his passenger, a 32- year- aged man. &nbsp,

About 1kg of hemp, 1kg of Ice, 10g of morphine, 82g of Ecstasy, 46 Acid passports and 3, 812 Erimin- 5 devices were found in the car.

Officers immediately raided their houses at Sembawang Close and Woods Street 81.

More drugs were found, including almost 1.5kg of cannabis and 19 bottles of wet suspected to have GHB.

Altogether, the drugs seized during the islandwide operation were worth about S$ 555, 000 ( US$ 411, 000 ).

” The arrest of about 11, 467g of hemp and 1, 336g of Frost can serve the habit of about 2, 400 perpetrators for a week”, said CNB.
