Teen who sexually assaulted sister gets reformative training to address porn use, attitude towards sex

On Tuesday ( Mar 4), a teenager who sexually assaulted his younger sister twice received a minimum year’s sentence in reformative training.

The girl, who is now 19 years old, may be identified to guard the victim’s identity. He previously admitted guilt on two sex-related charges against a minimal.

The next 14-year-old romantically assaulted his girlfriend in his place in March 2020.

When he asked if he could reach her, she declined, but the then-13-year-old relented and said it would simply take a short while before giving in.

He touched the target and asked her to do a sexual act on him, which she did.

He was interested in and interested about sex at the time, and he had just started taking sex education classes in school.

The girl, who was then 16 years old, was upset after receiving his O-Level posting effects in March 2022. He drank beer and experienced drowsiness.

He requested that his girl, who was 15 at the time, have intercourse with him at home. He kept insisting, but she later made up her mind to have intercourse with him.

The woman told a friend that her brother was harrassing her. She felt vulnerable and unsure of how to show her brother that they shouldn’t be having sex.

Prior to these crimes, the girl had formerly been disciplined by his parents for inappropriate touching his other girlfriend.

Quek Lu Yi, Deputy Public Prosecutor, requested corrective training for a month in accordance with a prison counselor who had evaluated the girl.

Ashvin Hariharan, a defense attorney, requested six months of corrective training, arguing that his lawyer’s conduct and understanding of his crimes had improved since his arrest.

Corrective training adopts a rehabilitative mentality approach toward young offenders. Trainees are confined to the Corrective Training Center and required to complete home and rehabilitation programs.

The prisons official said the teen needed assistance with his dysfunctional approach of using sexuality to deal with stress, explaining why a year of corrective training was required.

She claimed that these were diversion techniques because the girl had resisted using pornography by occupying himself with volunteer and amusement activities or by monitoring his family.

She added that the young needed mental counseling to develop his internal abilities.

Second, the girl needed to change his attitude toward sex because he had no idea what would happen to the victim.

Third, the adolescent displayed intimate concern. His next offence was caused by a pornographic ad he saw, which led to his meditating immediately and sexually assaulting his girlfriend the following day, according to the counselor.

The prosecutor told the girl in sentencing that” I hope you realize that what you did to your girlfriend is quite serious.”

A slight under the age of 16 who sexually penetrates a minor under the age of 16 faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a fine, or both. The greatest jail word is doubled to 20 times if the small was under the age of 14.
