The Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD ) has summoned members of the so-called “mind-connection” cult, which is led by an eight-year-old boy, to appear for questioning on Sept 11, lawyer Ananchai Chaidet said on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Mr. Ananchai, the president of the Dhamma Warrior Legal Foundation, along with social activists Athithep Pata from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Tankhun Jitissara, and Chalida” Ton Or” Palamart, went to the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ) to investigate the case of Nong Nice, a boy who claimed he was a son of Lord Buddha in a previous life.
The child also claims to be able to use psychic abilities to teach people dhamma and meditation and join with other people’s minds.
In May, Mr Ananchai and the team filed a complaint with the CIB against eight individuals involved in the “mind-connection” activity, including the child and his parents, for common scams, violations of the Computer Act and the Child Welfare Protection Act.
Mr. Ananchai made a news update to the internet that the TCSD had just called the eight defendants to testify on September 11 for questioning and hearing the allegations made against them.
He speculated that as the cult’s actions continue, there are still other people behind them, and he said he would write letters to organizations that provide facilities for their activities, including “aura bathing,” to ask them to stop supporting them.
Mr. Tankhun also demanded that the attorney who represented the defendants be investigated for their conduct.
According to Mr. Ananchai, the boy’s steps have been severely distorting the teachings of the Tripitaka as well as Buddhist rules, citing the new Sangha Supreme Council’s issuance of a seven-item attempt on Dhamma Practice.
Mr. Athithep promised to do the complaint against the organization for making up his own tripikata.
