Taxi collided with truck, police vehicle after driver fled petrol station

CHAIYAPHUM: A car driver who was registered in Bangkok fled a gas station without purchasing any energy collided with a vehicle and police car.

Sanya Polkong, the 36-year-old car driver, was arrested after the incident on Chaiyaphum-Bua Yai Road in Muang area on Saturday night.

After he fled a gas station opposite the Lat Yai police stop in the Muang area at around 8.20am on Saturday, the incident occurred as he attempted to elude a police car.

The taxi drivers was about to return to Bangkok after speaking with authorities about his mother’s visit. He sped over to the gas station to refuel and fled without paying 1,750 ringgit for the gas.

The pilot claimed that he escaped because he was wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.

The taxi drivers was unhurt. The driver of the truck was injured.
