The head of the Bang Pla tambon administrative organization ( TAO ) in the Samut Prakan province’s Bang Phli district and his female secretary were both detained on Wednesday on suspicion of demanding and accepting a bribe from an industry executive worth 2.3 million baht.

A business firm in Bang Pla filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD ) police, claiming that high-ranking officials from the TAO had demanded 2.6 million baht in exchange for granting permission for land excavation and landfills.

A garbage permit’s common fee is just 500 baht.

The company negotiated for the price to be lowered to 2.3 million rmb, and the other party consented.

Eventually, the company filed a problem with the ACD officers, armed with footage of TAO leaders demanding the money.

The Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Circumstances, Region 1 issued an arrest warrant for the ACD after an inspection and the getting of considerable information.

On Wednesday at around 11 a.m., ACD authorities detained Chanin Ruenroeng, 61, the president of the Bang Pla TAO, and his private secretary, who went by the name Pornmanee, 44, at their office in the city.

As state leaders, the two were accused of making reward demands and accepting them improperly.
