IPOH: The helicopter that crashed near Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, was on its l, with registration number 9M-SSW operated by Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd, departed from Kampung Gawin on Wednesday (Oct 26) at 12.20pm.

He said the CAAM was notified about the incident at 1.03pm.
“There was one pilot and five passengers on board.
“CAAM Emergency Operations Control (EOC) and the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC) at Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre (KLATCC) in Sepang, Selangor was activated immediately at 01.11pm,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The first search and rescue land unit was dispatched to the probable location (of the crash) within 19 mins and the SAR efforts are still currently ongoing.
“The safety investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia in accordance with Part XXVI Civil Aviation Regulations 2016,” he added.
In a brief update, the department said all victims had been found. However, there is no word yet on the victims’ condition.
