Taiwanese romance author Chiung Yao dies at 86

Chiung Yao, a well-known Chinese relationship novelist, passed away at the age of 86, allegedly by suicide.

Chiung was found dead in her New Taipei City home on Wednesday ( Dec. 4), according to the local fire department.

Her brother claimed that she had left a note telling her minister to check in at noon. information outlet  TVBS reported. Despite the secretary  Chiung was pronounced dead at the scene after soon requesting an emergency to remove her brain.

In 1938, she was born Chen Che in Chengdu, in the southwest of China, and she afterwards adopted the pencil name ; Chiung Yao.

She fled to Taiwan with her home in 1949 after Chiang Kai-shek’s patriotic makes lost a civil conflict to Mao Zedong’s soldiers.

She started writing when she was a kid, and when she was 25 local media reported that her first novel was published.

A number of her books were made into television set, which were big hits in both Taiwan and China, particularly the 18th-century time play My Fair Princess.

Established in the Qing kingdom, it tells the story of a poor child who becomes a lady.

Chiung’s later following father Ping Hsin-tao was the leader of Crown Publishing, the printing of most of her books. He died in 2019 older 92. When AFP contacted the publication, the editor declined to comment.

Chiung  Yao’s last five works were published in 2020, according to a Chinese book-selling site.

In a pre-recorded video posted on her Facebook page, she said:” I am the spark, and I have burned as hard as I can. “

Tsai Mei-tzu, a teacher of Chinese writing at the National Cheng Kung University, said:” In the cabinets of every artistic young woman in 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, there were a few  Chiung  Yao  books tucked away, hidden from the worry of being confiscated by professors.

” Even after the 1990s ,  Chiung  Yao’s conventional romance did never fade away. Her kingdom of love stories was continued by the extraordinary pressure and undertones. “
