After claiming the area was a part of China, Taiwan has informed businessman Musk, Elon that it is” not for price.”

On Mr. Musk’s X, foreign minister Joseph Wu remarked,” Mind up, Taiwan is not a part of the PRC [ Peoples Republic of China ] and certainly not for price.”

Mr. Musk compared Taiwan to Hawaii and described it as an” essential part” of China at a business conference this year.

Beijing asserts that Taiwan is self-governing, and hostilities between the two countries have grown over the past month.

China conducted air and naval drills around Taiwan just this year as part of what has since evolved into a regular display of military might on the area. More than 40 Chinese military aircraft and approximately 10 tankers were reportedly found in Taiwan’s lakes.

Mr. Musk, who has business interests in China, has previously offended Taiwan’s state with his remarks. He suggested in October that by giving China some power over Taiwan, hostilities between Beijing and Taipei may be reduced.

He then stated in an interview with the Financial Times that he thought a” fairly pleasant” agreement could be reached between the two governments. Mr. Musk had received praise from China’s adviser to the US, but his Chinese counterpart had said something along the lines of” freedom is not for sale.”

” Hope Musk, Elon can also ask the CCP ] Chinese Community Party ] to open X to its people ,” Mr. Wu also wrote on the platform. Twitter, the micro-blogging software used by Mr. Musk, is prohibited in China.

Mr. Wu had recently claimed that China’s defense exercises were meant to have an impact on the January elections in Taiwan.

The People’s Republic of China ( PRC) has made it clear that it wants to influence the upcoming national election in Taiwan. He wrote on X,” Well, it’s up to our citizens to make that decision, certainly the bully next door.”

Tesla, Mr. Musk’s electronic vehicle manufacturer, has a sizable manufacturing facility in Shanghai, and he most just traveled there in May. The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that Tesla was ready to grow its operations there after he met with senior Chinese leaders.

Given the recent decline in relations between China and the US, his attend attracted a lot of interest. High-level negotiations between the two nations have resumed, but they continue to disagree on a number of problems, including Taiwan, which has become one of their biggest points of contention. The US has much been Taipei’s main friend.
