Taiwan’s military forces are keeping a close watch on improvements and “exercising an ideal monitoring and answer”, the department added, without elaborating.
Before Lai’s conversation, protection sources in Taiwan had predicted that a new Taiwanese war could be held, which Beijing called “punishment” for Lai’s commencement speech that month.
The People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theatre Command, which has control over an area that includes Taiwan, released a propaganda picture on its social media platforms earlier on Sunday that read “fully ready and concealing people period before fight.”
A little image of Taiwan was included in one of the Chinese characters that made up the movie’s name, along with mobile projectile missiles being deployed into place, and fighter planes and warships operating together.
China has not ruled out using force to achieve unification.
On Sunday, the Chinese defense ministry did not return calls outside of business hours. The Taiwan Affairs Office of China did not respond to a request for comment right away.
Lai and his government reject Beijing’s sovereignty claims, saying only Taiwan’s people can decide their future. Lai has repeatedly apologised for his repeated offers to Beijing.
