Taiwan says it will discuss with US how to use new funding

Taiwan’s defense ministry announced on Sunday ( Apr 21 ) that it would discuss with the United States how to use the funding for the island that is included in a$ 95 billion legislative package, primarily providing security assistance to Israel and Ukraine.

Despite the absence of proper diplomatic ties, the United States is Taiwan’s most significant global supporter and supplier of hands.

China, which views Taiwan as its own place, is mounting military force from Taiwan, which is politically governed. Taiwan’s state rejects those states.

The US House of Representatives on Saturday approved the offer, and the defense ministry thanked them for it, saying it demonstrated the “rock good” US support for Taiwan.

The government added that it” will work hard to strengthen fight preparation capabilities to maintain national security, peace, and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and arrange the appropriate budget uses with the United States through existing exchange mechanisms.”

Since 2022, Taiwan has complained about delays in US supply disruptions, particularly for Stinger anti-aircraft weapons, as Ukrainian manufacturers concentrated on providing Ukraine with assistance in battling the country’s envading Russian forces.
