According to Jamnong Chaimongkol, vice minister of defense, the Defense Council has approved a plan authorizing the excellent minister to suspend leading officers suspected of plotting a military coup.

The Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang presided over the defense council meeting on April 19 that the revolution reduction proposal was presented.

A plan to alter the two rules governing the Military Court Charter and the Defence Ministry’s managerial capabilities was approved by the council. Additionally, it establishes new standards for promoting commanders.

Senior officials must not have any prior experience with drug use, human smuggling, or the loss of natural assets.

They must not have engaged in a conflict of interest, such as being or holding a government concession.

Moreover, they may be facing legal trials, unless over carelessness, defamation or minor offences.

The plan also gives the most important benefit: it also gives the prime minister the power to immediately dismiss from responsibility senior officers who plan to use a military force to acquire power and overthrow the government with prior approval from the cabinet.

According to Mr. Jamnong, the Pheu Thai Party and civic groups have been raising the revolt prevention plan for some time.

Following his appointment as defense minister, Mr. Sutin headed a working party to examine the issue with representatives from the government who were invited to comment.

The plan was seconded by those present at the meeting.

” The military forces leaders did not express their ideas,” he said.

Mr. Jamnong said it made more sense to identify the requirement in the regulation because it was difficult to write an anti-coup clause in the constitution, which are typically torn up by coupmakers.

He said,” It’s a concept that we discussed quite extensively within pro-democracy circles,” which is apparently referring to the opposition bloc, which was largely made up of Pheu Thai and the Move Forward Party during the previous Prayut Chan-o-cha administration.

The proposed revolution prevention amendments will now be presented to the cabinet before going before going before going before going before going before going before going before going before going before parliament for discussion.

In contrast, the committee meeting agreed to appoint two more Defence Council membership, boosting the number of sitting people.

According to Mr. Jamnong, the group made the decision to end military authorities in the counties.

Instead of filing a legal action in the Criminal Court, damaged parties can do so in cases that are usually based in the Military Court’s area of jurisdiction. In times of war, private citizens may file appeals with the Supreme Military Court.

The vice minister claimed that the constitutional changes were intended to keep the defense management up to date with society’s changes.

However, Col Dangjai Suwannakitti, assistant Defence Ministry spokesperson, said those signed up to become soldiers in this year’s recruitment number 42,260, up 9 % from last year. They make up half the soldiers hired overall this time.
