Taiwan’s defence ministry said the plane were involved in” combined combat readiness inspections” with Chinese ships, adding that Chinese aircraft and boats responded “appropriately”. It did not give specifics.
On Saturday, the Chinese defense department did not respond to requests for comment outside of business days.
Taiwan’s military forces are properly- equipped and nicely- trained but dwarfed by those of China’s, particularly the navy and air force, which respond about daily to Chinese missions.
Taiwan is considered to be the most crucial aspect of China’s relationship with the US, and Beijing has constantly pressed China to stop selling arms to Taiwan.
Taiwan President- elect Lai Ching- dit takes department on May 20 after winning January’s vote. He is viewed by Beijing as a harmful dissident, and it has rejected his repeated requests for discussions.
Lai asserted on Thursday that China should have the inclination to speak with Taiwan’s formally elected state. Like cheerful President Tsai Ing- wen, Lai says simply Taiwan’s people may choose their future.
