Ms. Lai, 60, has a long history in the entertainment industry. In the Netflix series Wave Makers, she played a political candidate whose character was reportedly influenced by President Tsai Ing-wen. Early this year, the series inspired a Me to movements in Taiwan.

The parents of Ms. Lai is a US former who served in Taiwan. Yet, according to the neighborhood publication Business Today, he had already left the island before she was born.

Citizens have been drawn to Mr. Gou by his commercial achievements and his work with China. He founded Foxconn in 1974, and since then, it has been Apple’s primary vendor.

Ms. Lai remarked,” I was being open-minded.” ” After a few encounters with Mr. Gou, I’ve discovered that I may work with him because he’s very fascinating.”

Because Taiwanese laws do not permit political candidates with two nationalities, there are rumors about Ms. Lai’s nationality. Ms. Lai may respond to the query herself afterwards, according to a spokesman.

It was a wise move for Mr. Gou, according to Dennis Weng, an associate professor at Sam Houston State University in the US, but it might not ultimately have an impact on the January poll results.

The majority of the market is fresh, and Tammy Lai gave a fantastic performance in Wave Makers. But Terry Gou is certainly supported by young people, he told BBC Chinese.
