Following a collection saga, there was some noise in the circuit team’s build-up to the Games. that resulted in Gan resigning from Quah Ting Wen.
Quah and her sister Quah Jing Wen led Singapore to the event’s certification earlier this year, along with the Sim daughters and her girl. The trio won the World Aquatics Championships in Doha in February, placing ninth overall.
But, to give a circuit staff to Paris, the group had to join the World Aquatics requirement of having a maximum of two relay-only athletes.
At the time, of the four swimmers, only Letitia had met an Olympic Qualifying Time ( OQT), or” A” cut, with her achievement in the 100m breaststroke giving her a direct path to Paris.
With three relay-only athletes, the Quah aunts and Levenia, one over the limit was left in Singapore. Therefore, according to World Aquatics, Singapore received an “exceptional base” for an additional relay-only slot.
Despite having met the Olympic Consideration Time ( OCT) ( or” B” cut ) for the event with a swim of 16 :10, World Aquatics later accepted Gan as a candidate for the women’s 1,500m freestyle. 61 in June.
Singapore Aquatics based on variety standards in place since June 2023, Gan said it had chosen to participate in the Olympics.
It would have been” special” for freshman Jing Wen to make her debut on Saturday alongside her older sister, who was also with her kids and brother Zheng Wen.
