Russian girl was swimming outside designated location at Patong beach, say rescuers

A boat shaft struck a 17-year-old Russian visitor while she was swimming outside the designated region at Patong seaside on Saturday, injuring her leg.
After being called at around 10.30am on Saturday, officers and liberate workers rushed to the shore near the Sea Pearl group on Thaweewong Road.
When they arrived, rescuers were helping the visitor, identified after as Daria, 17, who had sustained sores to her lower right foot and her right foot. Before being transferred to Patong Hospital, she was second treated, and she was then transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital.
The woman was swimming when the child unintentionally dived under the buoys that are used to designate swimming areas, according to lifeguards from Patong Beach. She was quickly struck by a speedboat’s shaft as it passed through the region.
