Sutin hails Cambodia defence ties during first visit

According to Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang, Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to hold a General Border Committee meet in March and have vowed to strengthen industry and defense ties.

According to the government, Mr. Sutin’s first trip to Cambodia since taking office was to strengthen defense relations.

Hun Manet, the prime minister of Cambodia, welcomed him, and the two talked about how to increase cooperation along the borders.

To further advance demining work along the frontier, Mr. Sutin stated that Cambodia has agreed to host the 16th General Border Committee meet. According to him, the GBC appointment is expected to happen in March of next year.

Mr. Sutin talked about national security problems, such as extraditions, military assistance, expense, and hospitality, in addition to demining.

Gen Tea Seiha, the deputy prime minister and minister of regional defense of Cambodia, was also with Mr. Sutin as they examined an honor guard.

According to Mr. Sutin, Thailand and Cambodia have had near relations for a long time, particularly in terms of martial relations.

He added that the assistance on demining may continue because the two nations have regularly trained each other’s military commanders.

According to Mr. Sutin, demining assistance may remain.

Additionally, he added, the defense department of Cambodia and Thailand will collaborate to research and create arms.

Gen Seiha thanked the Thai frontier guards for caring for the Thai laborers in the meantime.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Thai army for planning the Asean Armies Rifle Meet and facilitating the education of Vietnamese military officers, both of which led to an improvement in military proficiency among their quantity.
