Suspended jail terms for Pita, Thanathorn over flash mob

Pita Limjaroenrat, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, and six other people were each given four-month jail terms by the Pathumwan District Court on Monday for a 2019 display crowd opposition in the area.

Mr. Thanathorn is the former leader of the disbanded Future Forward Party ( FFP ) and the head of nbsp, Progressive Movement, while Mr Pita serves as the chief advisor to the opposition-core Move Forward Partie.

The judge also sentenced Pannika Wanich, the spokesperson, Pairattachote Chantarakajon, a former FFP election member, Nattha Mahatthana, Thanawat Wongchai, and Parit Chiwarak. Piyabutr Saengkanokkul was the movement’s secretary-general.

All of them were found guilty of planning a flash crowd that disrupted train services and prevented people from using open spaces on the skywalk at the Pathumwan intersection and within 150 meters of the Sabum Palace.

The defendants were each given four years in prison by the judge, with a two-year suspension because they had not already been given prison terms and the opposition had only been held for political reasons and was not considered an serious offense.

Additionally, the court fined them 20, 200 ringgit for using headphones without a force and staging the march without notice.

Mr. Pita declared that he and his fellow defendants may challenge the decision regarding the rally’s range from the house.

The spark mob and nbsp met on December 14, 2019. The Election Commission’s decision to seek the dissolution of the Future Forward Party for fraudulently accepting a sizable payment from Mr. Thanathorn was followed by the largest protest since the 2014 revolution.

The party was immediately disbanded by the court, and Mr. Thanathorn and other executive members were barred from holding political office.
