Suspected gas explosion rocks town in northern China

BEIJING: According to Chinese state media on Wednesday ( Mar 13 ), a powerful explosion that severely damaged a restaurant in Hebei province in China left several people injured and left large debris scattered across the streets.

According to state broadcaster CCTV News, an blast occurred at a diner in Sanhe, a region on the outskirts of Beijing, at around 8 am.

Beijing is about 80 kilometers away from Sanhe.

According to CCTV, the injured have been taken to a doctor, and it is unknown whether any of them have died. According to the report, it is believed that the blast was caused by a fuel canister.

According to a declaration from the Langfang Fire Rescue Detachment, an explosion and fire broke out in a road store in Xiaozhanggezhuang town near the intersection of Xueyuan Street and Yingbin Road.

The office stated that the fire was under control and that rescue function was being carried out, and that it instantly dispatched 36 cars and 154 people to the field.
