Suchart takes up role as Thailand’s top graft-buster

On Thursday, Suchart Trakulkasemsuk was formally elected as the new head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission ( NACC).

Following a video clip supposedly between Mr. Suchart and Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, the appointment was made after Mr. Wan’s house was leaked.

The topic of the conversation was Mr. Suchart’s worry over a complaint that former assistant Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn had sent to Mr. Wan regarding his election as NACC president.

At the company’s Nonthaburi head office on Thursday, Mr. Suchart was appointed by the royal order to lead the organization’s Feb. 11 election. He declined to make any comments on the matter.

Mr. Wan accused Pol Gen Surachate of having a talk with Mr. Suchart in secret on Wednesday.

Mr. Wan claimed that Pol Gen Surachate requested to meet him at his home to wish him a successful New Year and explore different issues. ” When he]Pol Col Surachate ] arrived, he also brought along another person, Mr Suchart]without notifying Mr Wan in advance]. He claimed he wanted to meet him and ask for an introduction, according to Mr. Wan.

Mr. Wan claimed that Mr. Suchart had been having second thoughts when Pol Gen Surachate asked him to remove a grievance he had previously filed against him.

However, Mr. Wan claimed it was difficult because 20, 000 signatures against Mr. Suchart had already been verified. However, he said he had read the complaint and found it was groundless, Mr Wan said. &nbsp,

According to the complaint, Mr. Suchart is alleged to be exceedingly rich, making him unfit for the position of NACC president.

But, Pol Gen Surachate on Thursday denied meet Mr Wan. Additionally, he objected to Mr. Wan’s property.

Prior to this, the NACC asserted that Mr. Suchart is qualified to assume the position despite having filed a legitimate problem.

Pol Gen Surachate, who is embroiled in a fight with the newly elected NACC captain, complained that Mr. Suchart is suited for the position despite the fact that NACC secretary-general Sarote Phuengramphan is in a fight with the recently elected NACC key. He claimed that a NACC part should be the subject of a problem and that they can continue playing their formal jobs because long as there is no legal precedent against them.

Mr Suchart, who has been with the NACC for about four years, was picked as captain after a 5: 2 voting.
