Subianto: First official trip to Thailand
Subianto: Second official trip to Thailand

On Monday, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will make an official visit to Thailand where the two nations will formally turn their diplomatic relations into a corporate partnership.

It will be Mr. Subianto’s second official trip to Thailand since taking office in October 2024, according to Deputy Foreign Ministry spokesman Panidone Pachimsawat, who confirmed the visit during a media briefing yesterday. Additionally, it is Indonesia’s president’s first official visit to Thailand in 20 times.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Mr. Subianto are scheduled to meet in person to discuss the Thailand-Indonesia Strategic Partnership.

The agreement was reached at the 10th Joint Commission Meeting, which was co-chaired by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa.

This visit, according to Mr. Panidone, is particularly important because it coincides with the country’s 75th diplomatic anniversary.

A filing of agreements and notes of knowledge, a joint press event, a welcoming meeting at Government House, a bilateral gathering, and a luncheon hosted by the Thai prime minister in honor of the Indonesian delegation are all part of the standard itinerary.
