In a video posted on Oct 30, a street busker is seen playing Majulah Singapura on an accordion after meeting the couple and finding out they are Singaporeans. The musician can even be heard saying “Singapura” multiple times during his performance which drew applause and cheers from the couple.
Speaking to 8world, @wantwotwee said that the video was shot on Aug 15 at the Narikala Fortress in Tbilisi during the couple’s honeymoon. However, he added that he still has no idea “how the musician knew how to play his country’s national anthem”.
The video has since received thousands of views online with Singapore users displaying their national pride and praising the busker. In the comments section of a repost of the video, @wantwotwee revealed that he ended up giving the busker a S$10 note along with a €5 note for his rousing performance, adding that “that was all (he) had in his pocket”.
