Officials have issued a warning of storms and great winds all over the country, including Bangkok, as well as the southern province of Chumphon, for the duration of the week until Thursday.
Chaiwat Jultirapong, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said on Sunday that he had ordered employees in the regions to make for the probable effects of the weather swings.
He attributed the alert to the Meteorological Department’s prediction that high-pressure techniques from China may primarily approach the southeast region of the North, the Northeast, and the South China Sea, while the rain trough would prevail in the lower North, the lower Northeast, and the Central Plain.

- the northern provinces of Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon and Udon Thani
On Tuesday and Monday in
- northeastern counties especially Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phayao, Phetchabun, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak and Uttaradit,
- the northern provinces of Amnat Charoen, Bueng Kan, Buri Ram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Loei, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nong Khai, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani and Yasothon

According to Ms. Kornravee, the Northeast’s temperature would drop by one degree Celsius eventually in the week.
On Sunday the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported flood in 17 regions, mostly in the North and the Northeast, affecting about 40, 000 people.
Storms were reported in:  ,
the northern regions of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Nan, Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Sukhothai and Tak,
the northern regions of Chaiyaphum, Maha Sarakham, Nong Khai, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani,
the main ordinary state of Ayutthaya, and
the province of Prachin Buri in southeast India.
Floodwater was receding in most of the regions. In Maha Sarakham, the storm rates were intact, whereas in Phitsanulok and Ayutthaya, they were rising.
From Aug 16, flooding affected about 181, 000 homes, killed 49 citizens and injured 28 people in 37 regions, according to the office.
