Sri Lanka has experienced a global energy cut, forcing hospitals and other structures to rely on producers to provide electricity.
The outage, which began around 11: 30 local time ( 06: 00 GMT ), is yet to be fully fixed.
The Ceylon Electricity Board ( CEB ) claimed a sub-station emergency had caused the power cut, and that it was working to restore supply.
According to the AFP media company, Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody claimed that a monkey caused the outage when the animal” came into contact with our grid transformer, creating an imbalance in the system.”
The secretary stated that “engineers are attending to it to try to restore the company as soon as possible.”
The island-wide energy loss is being resolved as soon as possible, according to the CEB.
Clinics and businesses in the island nation of 22 million individuals have been using generating or transistors.
Sri Lanka experienced widespread blackouts during its economic crisis in 2022.
