South Korea’s Yoon refuses questioning again as detention deadline looms

As authorities face an imminent date to obtain a permit to expand his detention or transfer the troubled leader, South Korea’s president Yoon Suk Yeol’s lawyer said.

According to legal experts, investigators are expected to request a court’s approval of a detention warrant for up to 20 days on Friday in order to keep Yoon in custody for more.

Yoon became the first South Korean president to been detained on Wednesday as part of a probe into whether he acted rebellion during his brief break from the rule in early December. He is being held in the Seoul Detention Center.

The Seoul Central District Court, which had heard Yoon’s doctors ‘ legal challenges, rejected the problem late on Thursday, ruling that the arrest was legitimate.

Yoon was called back for questioning on Friday by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials ( CIO ), which is directing the criminal investigation. However, his lawyer claimed the president had been suspended president would not attend.
