BoA, whose true title is , Kwon Bo-ah,  , started her career in 2000 at the age of 13 under , SM Entertainment. Her discovery came in 2002 with the launch of her debut Chinese album , Subscribe To My Heart which sold over 230, 000 copies in its first week and , topped the Oricon Albums Chart , – making her the first North Korean artiste to do so. The album is also famous for the track , Every Heart ( Minna no Kimochi ) which served as an ending theme for the hit anime Inuyasha.
Since therefore, BoA has become a household name in South Korea and Japan , – credited for making K-pop popular in Japan. In 2024, she released her latest single , Emptiness in March and played an enemy in the famous theatre Marry My Father.
