South Korean authorities fail to raid presidential office again: Report

The president’s office may be searched for twice by authorities after the government’s decision to declare martial law was overturned within hours of a conflict with congress. The political company freely submitted some information after an attempt on December 11 ended without access.

According to Yonhap, the security company for the presidential office said it would make its place known on Wednesday regarding possible cooperation with raids.

On Tuesday, the officers and the political office did not have an immediate response. The CIO declined to comment.

According to the judge and officers, Yoon has maintained a low profile since his most recent public statements, which came soon after he was impeached by parliament in a ballot on Saturday.

Yoon has been working with constitutional teams to defend himself against rebellion complaints and the Constitutional Court event, which will determine whether to remove him from office or grant him new power.

Seok Dong-hyun, a attorney and an ex-prosecutor who helps Yoon, told reporters on Tuesday that the mayor’s declaration of martial law did not constitute rebellion, Yonhap reported.

Yoon would also” confidently express his position in the ( Constitutional ) Court”, Yonhap cited Seok as saying.

Seok declined to comment on whether Yoon may agree with a summons to look for questioning on December 21 and claimed that authorities needed to speed up the ongoing investigations being conducted by some agencies simultaneously, including the trial, the police, and the CIO, according to Yonhap.

Seok was unavailable for reply by Reuters right away.
