South Korea extends ETA waiver for Singaporean travellers by 1 year

SINGAPORE: South Korea has extended its electronic travel authorisation ( ETA ) waiver for visa-exempt travellers from 22 countries, including Singapore.

The Ministry of Justice of South Korea stated in a notice that was made available on its website on December 11 that the K-ETA temporary provision time would be extended from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 to” promote the tourism market.”

Foreign tourists who don’t have a visa must first get the K-ETA before entering South Korea. Each application fee costs 10, 000 won ( S$ 9 ) and is valid for three years.

Additionally, it must be obtained at least 24 hrs before boarding a flight.

Since April 2023, Singaporean travelers have been spared the requirement to get a K-ETA before visiting South Korea.
