China has called in the past for a “political negotiation” to resolve tensions on the Korean peninsula, reiterating that place after the North declared Seoul a “hostile” position earlier this year.

China’s marriage with South Korea is not without its problems. Beijing announced last month that it had arrested a North Korean national for allegedly spying.
