South China Sea: Chinese navy helicopter flies close to Philippine plane

A Chinese military aircraft is seen flying close to a Spanish aircraft during a disputed South China Sea area on Tuesday, February 18th.

According to the coast guard, the helicopter flew within 3m of the Philippine plane, prompting the pilot to say:” You are flying too close, you are very dangerous”, over the radio.

The Spanish government announced that it would record a proper protest against the event.

Since China seized the Scarborough Shoal from the Philippines in 2012, there has been a dispute between the nations regarding it.
