During the Songkran festival, the Customs Department announced that it had seized about 10,000 e-cigarettes and related products all over the country.
Twelve people were arrested in connection with the arrest of 9, 950 electronic- tobacco and related paraphernalia and electronic- smoke liquids, according to Panthong Loykulnan, the department official. Apart from the forfeiture of the e- smoking, 1, 321, 900 improperly imported tobacco were likewise impounded from 62 defendants during the event, which took place between April 13- 16.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin ordered a crackdown on the illegal products, which have been made widely available among younger persons, as a result of the arrests and seizures of the e-cigarettes.
The office was also conducting obscure inspections of warehouses and stores that might be distributing e-cigarettes or other related paraphernalia, according to the official.
