But happy to helm Sang Anakhot Thai
Former deputy prime minister Somkid Jatusripitak, who has officially been unveiled as leader of the Sang Anakhot Thai Party, mentioned he does not desire the role of prime minister, but instead wishes to work for your benefit of the country.
He has been speaking at a workshop where potential applicants seeking to run within the next election under the party’s banner gathered on Thursday, with the introduction of Mr Somkid as the party’s chairman as the highlight.
This is seen as a step preceding their highly anticipated candidate selection as the party’s excellent ministerial candidate. However , he tried to downplay the speculation.
“The leading ministerial position is not the point. What issues is the leadership skills to initiate change and develop the country, ” Mr Somkid said.
“I would like to thank everyone here for becoming brave enough to declare you are political moderates who look for to build a strong future for the country, ” he added.
“Political parties are set up below messy circumstances. Money plays a very important function. Political competition is comparable to horse racing. You can find horses to buy. There has to be a stable.
“The owner should find money to raise horses, but usually in an overt way. This sets a bad example, which puts new-generation people away from, ” Mr Somkid said, referring to the negative effect of blending money with politics.
“Don’t think that money can always buy a big stable to run the country. A power structure that will lacks wisdom and support capable individuals will not survive, inch he said.
Mr Somkid also criticised an electrical struggle within the judgment Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) that forced the resignation of three ministers working for him and in the cabinet in 2020.
These were Uttama Savanayana, whom stepped down because PPRP leader and finance minister; Sontirat Sontijirawong, who quit as the PPRP’s secretary-general and energy minister; and Suvit Maesincee, who resigned because minister of higher training, science, research plus innovation.
Kobsak Pootrakul, an ex member of Mr Somkid’s team, also resigned. All four were area of the economic team led by Mr Somkid.
Mr Uttama is now leader of Sang Anakhot Thai, which means Building Thailand’s Long term, while Mr Sontirat serves as its secretary-general.
“All four had to encounter the fallout from the power struggle. At the time, ministerial portfolios were divided like a buffet cabinet, ” this individual said.
“I don’t really want the prime ministerial position because it involves carrying the country’s troubles. But I want the party to save the country and build a good future for it. Personally, I am ready to assistance the party in a role, ” Mister Somkid said.

Last week, Mr Somkid resigned from most of positions at Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Plc (SPI). SPI issued a letter educating the Stock Exchange of Thailand of his resignation as a member and chairman of the industry’s board of directors, effective Aug 31.
Former deputy prime minister Pongpol Adireksarn great son Porapol had been also unveiled since party members at the event.
