The Royal Thai Army has transferred a lieutenant general to an inactive post pending an investigation into allegations involving illicit drug use and assault while having gay sex in Songkhla.
The incident was revealed to local media on Sunday after the alleged victim showed a video clip of the scene and bruises over his body, which he claimed were due to hm being assaulted while having sex with a lieutenant general with the initial “Wor”.
A source said the victim met the lieutenant general via an LGBTQ+ dating app.
After making an appointment via the dating app, the two agreed to meet at a hotel in Sadao district. After showering, the lieutenant general allegedly asked the victim to take crystal meth by directly injecting it into his vein, but he refused.
Afterwards, the officer allegedly used a sex toy with the victim and lashed him with a whip.
The lieutenant general allegedly refused to take responsibility for hurting the victim and threatened the victim if he disseminated the video clip before the accused offered 2,000 baht to end the matter.
The alleged victim said he had not filed a report with the police yet as he just wanted compensation for his injuries.
Yesterday, Maj Gen Sirichan Ngathong, the Thai army’s deputy spokeswoman, responded to the allegations saying the army is probing the matter while confirming the accused is a soldier. She said the accused had been transferred to an inactive post while waiting for the investigation to be completed.
