SMRT bus driver, 58, dies after crashing into tree in Woodlands; no commuters on board

SINGAPORE: A 58-year-old bus driver was killed after crashing into a tree in Woodlands on Tuesday morning ( Apr 16 ). No riders were present on the vehicle.

When it mounted a pavement and struck a tree, bus company 911 was traveling along Woodlands Avenue 2 toward Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub, according to SMRT cars deputy managing director Vincent Gay.

Mr. Gay responded to TODAY’s questions by stating that the bus’s pilot was the only passenger.
