Six Thai hostages set to return after release by Hamas

BANGKOK: On Monday, December 4, officials announced that six Thai hostages who had been kidnapped by Hamas and held there for weeks may return to the country.

When Arab insurgents crossed the border on October 7, killing 1, 200 people—mostly civilians—and theft about 240 people, thousands of Thais were working in Israel, primarily in the agricultural industry, according to Israeli government.

Hamas kidnapped at least 32 Thais, and Thai Muslim organizations and Bangkok’s foreign government are attempting to secure their release.

Six are anticipated to arrive at Singapore’s Suvarnabhumi airport on Monday at around 2 p.m. ( Singapore time ) after spending weeks in captivity.

The team has been recovering at an Israeli doctor since being freed while authorities get ready to fly them home.
