In order to facilitate the transportation and buying of land products, including fishing products, Prachuap Khiri Khan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative wants to permanently establish a border crossing at Singkhon in Muang area as a station between Thailand and Myanmar.

Minister Thamanat Prompow said that at the Singkhon borders cross, which allows only Myanmar and Thai nationals to cross the border, some restrictions, such as health requirements, have not yet been applied. Moreover, there is gridlock in loading and unloading products. It needs services, technology and standardized processes as part of an upgrade to solve current business volumes, he said.

Thus, the government has given the province governor the task of developing plans for the import and export of agricultural items into the kingdom, particularly fishery items.

He added that the government will schedule an April 24 meeting to discuss issues with the organizations.

” The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also hold conversations with the Myanmar authorities to push for the beginning of the Singkhon checkpoint”, he said.

The minister even had a meeting on Monday&nbsp with local fishermen to talk about issues like the need for less expensive gasoline and options to rising fish item prices.

” It was a great opportunity to listen intently to the fishermen’s problems.” So, I have signed an order to assign a commission to study every one of their pleas”, he said.

He claimed that he ordered government organizations to encourage included farm practices and knowledge to help reduce the level of water shortages. He cited the drought trouble during the dry season.

Prachuap Khiri Khan is home to 56 fish populations and has the longest beach, at 224.8km, along the Gulf of Thailand.
